Hello, and welcome to Barn Chic Antiques! From country chic to industrial salvage, I love rusty remnants of the past! Whether these treasures are upcycled, repurposed, or simply reused, forlorn pieces are what add character to modern decorating.
Barn Chic started out as a small booth at the Austin Antique Mall in April 2011. A year and a half later, I did my first show at Rusted Gingham's Barn Sale and was hooked. I now travel to vintage shows around the state of Texas. The style of Barn Chic has since expanded beyond home decor with the launch of barnchicboutique.com in November 2013; the online boutique features farm to market style with vintage-inspired clothing and accessories for both ladies and babies.
I am originally from Heyworth, IL, a tiny farm town which is home to some of the richest soil in the world. I grew up on a sheep farm surrounded by corn fields and spent my summers showing lambs at county and state fairs. Though I live the city life now, my antiquing adventures helped me reconnect to my country roots as I spent my weekends and summers traveling to small towns throughout central Texas hunting for farmhouse finds. I enjoy writing about my picking stories as well as my attempts at shabby decor; I love to showcase creative vignettes from which I find inspiration and the talented designers behind those scenes at shops and shows throughout Texas and the Midwest. You can also follow my antiquing adventures on Facebook.
Now that I have a little one, my shopping excursions are few and far between, but I do love providing vintage-inspired clothing and accessories through the barnchicboutique.com website. Check out the site and use discount code BLOGREADER for an additional 15% off your total purchase!
